The Good Baby Box
The Good Baby Box helps families who reside in Hastings County stretch their dollars to meet the food needs of their infants and toddlers. This program is offered at Helping Hands Madoc Food Bank, in partnership with Community Development Council of Quinte. The program operates Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m at the Helping Hand Food Bank, Madoc.
Participants can visit the food bank on Wednesdays to purchase a ‘Baby Box’ for each child two years of age and under in their family.
Choose from a variety of foods such as infant cereal, Starter or Junior baby foods and a variety of baby care items such as shampoo, soap, baby oil or wipes. Formula is also available. Concentrate is $2.00 per can, with a limit of eight cans per week. Powdered is $15.00 per large can with a limit of one per week.
There are three types of Good Baby Boxes:
For infants, the $5.75 Good Baby Box includes: 20 diapers and a baby care item.
For babies, the $9.00 Good Baby Box includes: 20 diapers, a baby care item, a box of infant cereal, six jars of Starter or four jars of Junior fruits, vegatables or meat meals.
For toddlers, under two years of age, the $6.00 Good Baby Box includes 20 diapers, as well as cookies, juice or a baby care item.
